Background and motivation
The motivation behind the two-year project was to meet the demand for geodata in various academic disciplines. The aim is to establish an efficient national service for the targeted location, access, presentation, downloading and processing of comprehensive geodata for research and teaching at Swiss universities.
The service builds on existing services at ETH Zurich and the University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil. These two ranges were honed within the scope of the Geodata4SwissEDU project and vested with a “common umbrella” – a metadata catalogue.
